Transgender Rage
On "why are you always getting political?"

(Something I posted the other day on my private Instagram)
I hate being the topic of a political agenda. I'm not actively trying to make this about me and my identity. You're pulling me into this.
So let me be clear. The erasure and criminalization of transgender identities in the states right now is an active step towards a genocide of minorities, and they won't stop with us when they are finished.
"So what does it have to do with you? You're in Germany." Politics in the states have always affected the entire globe. Already, hospitals for gender-affirming care in India have closed down as a direct consequence of America cutting their funds. AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, far-right wing party) has been saying for years that we are an abnormality, and a fifth of German citizens are voting for them. A fifth of German citizens actively vote against my human rights!
My identity is a political playball, instrumentalized and used by far-right idiots as a dog whistle to push fascist rhetoric and further reinstate the status quo, blaming the left for the „demoralization of society".
So please excuse me for getting political!
I heard many people, even friends, say during #blm that you can demonstrate — „but please keep it civil."
We only have gay marriage in Germany because two trans women of colour, Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson, were among the people to first threw a brick at cops at Stonewall. Violence was always a valid means for the suppressed to get their rights!
Don't you dare act like asking kindly will make dictators rethink their stance on minorities!
First, they will come for my sisters, my brothers, and me. When they are finished with us, you will realize that their list didn't end with queer people; you are next.
It's time for you to do something when you're not yet affected.

"When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty."
